This is the Mirrorverse fanmix I mentioned when I posted the previous fanmix. For some reason it's taken me a month to post this. IDEKY.

Um...I would rate this NSFW because of tracks 8 and 9.

Or at least listen to it the first time with headphones on until you determine who it is and isn't appropriate to listen to it around.

I mean, it's Mirrorverse, what else would you expect? ;)

1. The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (Smashing Pumpkins)
Is it bright where you are, and have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, my old secrets laid
We can watch the world devoured in its pain

2. Heads Will Roll (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
Off, off with your head
Dance, dance 'til your dead
Heads will roll, heads will roll
Heads will roll on the floor

3. Head Like a Hole (Nine Inch Nails)
Head like a hole, black as your soul
I'd rather die than give you control
Bow down before the one you serve
You're going to get what you deserve

4. Pioneer to the Falls (Interpol)
Show me the dirt pile and I will pray
That the soul can take three stowaways
Vanish with no guile and I will not pay
But the soul can wait, the soul can wait

5. Heart Shaped Box (Nirvana)
She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak
I've been locked inside your heart shaped box for weeks
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black

6. Poison (Alice Cooper)
I hear you calling and it's needles and pins
I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name
Don't wanna touch you, but you're under my skin
I wanna kiss you, but your lips are venomous poison

7. Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
I know you want what's on my mind
I know you like what's on my mind
I know it eats you up inside
I know, you know, you know, you know

8. Stitches (Orgy)
Tying yourself to me
Stitch up my emptiness
'Cause you're the death of me
So precious, loving the thrill

9. Prison Sex (Tool)
My lamb and martyr, you look so precious
Won't you come on a bit closer, close enough for I can smell you
I need you to feel this - I can't stand to burn too long
Release in this sodomy - for one sweet moment I am whole

10. Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums (A Perfect Circle)
I’ll be the one to protect you from your enemies and all your demons
I'll be the one to protect you from a will to survive and a voice of reason
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choices son
They're one in the same, I must isolate you, isolate and save you from yourself

Oooh, downloading, because it's always good to get new songs to write mirrorverse to--and maybe then I can get this monster Mirroverse Kirk/McCoy story off my USB drive already. Thanks for the mix!

I don't know if I should be glad how easy it was for me to assemble this as I had all the songs already. Don't know what that says about my music...LOL. I mean Prison Sex has a line that goes, "I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this shit, blood, and cum on my hands."

Maybe I should put a warning on this...

I feel weird asking this, but what *is* Mirrorverse?
[identity profile] emiliglia.livejournal.com wrote:
Mar. 4th, 2010 07:37 pm (UTC)
It's a canon AU in Star Trek where everyone is the mirror of themselves in the "regular" universe. So all our heroes that are good and selfless are bloodthirsty, power hungry bastards in the Mirrorverse. It's good fun.

It's canon? Really? Huh. That's... completely odd. But I approve. Oh wait - is this were the Spock with a mustache comes from?
[identity profile] emiliglia.livejournal.com wrote:
Mar. 5th, 2010 05:18 pm (UTC)
Yes! That's where Spock with the goatee comes from and then the entire trope where beards = evil. The TOS episode is called "Mirror, Mirror" and should be on both YouTube and CBS.com if you want to watch it.

Awesome mix! "Sex Type Thing" is a favorite of mine in particular.

I know what you mean about "what does this say about me?" -- when I was making my mirrorverse playlist, it was disturbing how many of the songs I had on my computer qualified. :D

I loooooove STP.

I think if I busted out my CDs from high school I could've had more... Oh I thought I was so cool. XP

My next mix is a McCoy/Jocelyn divorce mix. I don't know why. I have like 4 songs so far - any ideas?

I thought I heard a song recently too...it was either on my iPod or the radio. I hope it was the iPod so then I can look at the Recently Played folder. :P

I remembered what I was listening to... although it might not fit exactly for you. It was me thinking about Bones and Jocelyn splitting up, and then at the end of it Bones and Jim meeting.

Dakona - Trust

I did have a trawl around the stuff I had in my car that day though, so...
Vertical Horizon - It's Over
Familiar 48 - Too Late
Closure - Crushed

Vista eats the ends of any songs I pull off my mp3 player, so if you want any of these, let me know and I'll pull them off my external hard drive instead where they will be full versions.

Just from looking at the lyrics I think almost all of these are perfect. The "she said she knew we wouldn't last" line is keeping me from thinking "Too Late" will fit. I'm extremely excited about "Trust" because I wanted it to end with Bones meeting Jim but couldn't think of the song for it.

So that's 8 songs... I think I have a lot of songs of the during and the after but I don't think I have one for when things start falling apart and then the tipping point. I'll have to look over what I have... Yay! Something to do tonight! :P

I figured out a track order for the 8 songs I do have. Just need to actually listen to it to see how it sounds and then figure out if I'm happy at 8 or want to add more. I'm sure The Fray, Coldplay, and Snow Patrol have songs I could add that I just haven't felt like looking for yet. Interpol too, maybe? And Kings of Leon? LOL. All my mixes are the same bands over and over again.

Love your icon btw, I have the animated version - in fact I sneaked quite a few from that batch!!

Those icons were hysterical. I was dying of laughter. I needed a gold shirt Kirk icon so I went with this one. It was either this or the "matching thong" one I did in the Anne Taintor post, so for some reason my gold shirt Kirk icon doesn't want to be srs bzns.

Which unfortunately in AOS means there's black shirt underneath, now, so maybe both will have to get ripped. :P

Ooooh...I like that song. See in my head and the story I'm trying to get the mix to follow is that between the hospital and taking care of his Dad, Bones is never around and it's slowly falling apart but capitulates when Bones' dad dies, so this song could be Bones saying he's not the only one to blame since she's the one that's leaving or whatever.

So basically I'm also trying to figure out songs that signify that Bones is never around and then something that could be about his dad dying but it's not like you can search in Google for the impressions of a song. I feel like I have or have at least heard a song about someone never being around, "cold side of the pillow" keeps running through my head. Should Google that...

Try Sorry too, also by Daughtry, seems to fit for McCoy realising he's been in the wrong. Lyrics

Thank you for Breakdown!

I'll keep Sorry in mind but I'm kinda OCD about not repeating artists. Which gets annoying when they have more than one song that fits perfectly. -_-

I don't think I've found a band yet that encompasses Trek inspiration for me but Snow Patrol does lovely things for my slasher heart and they cross all pairings.

Hee, thank you so much!

just to let you know, the last song is called "Pet".

The last song is actually a remix of Pet from their third album, eMOTIVE. It's longer and more, um, harsh, maybe? It's a great remix though. :)
