Title: The Greater Good
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Kirk/McCoy, Sulu/Chekov, Spock/Uhura
Word Count: 29,020
Warnings: sex, angst (specifically in the context of depression and PTSD), medical and military stuff that should be read with suspended disbelief, lab rats (including non-graphic description of humane euthanasia), underage drinking (though Chekov argues that he's legal in Russia), and minor character (OC and canon) deaths
Summary: Doctor Leonard McCoy thinks he's getting by, working as both a surgeon and a researcher at UCSF Medical Center. A chance encounter with Lieutenant Jim Kirk - who's changed since they first met five years before, and not for the better - forces Leonard to face reality about his own situation while trying to keep Jim from heading down the same path.

Author's Notes: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blcwriter for all the hand-holding and coaxing, [livejournal.com profile] caitri for resorting to bribery to see this thing finished (I haven't forgotten!), [livejournal.com profile] flyingmachine for beta reading, and all the people who commented on the snippet I posted at the end of December (especially [livejournal.com profile] wolf_naked for leaving the original prompt this was inspired by even if I don't actually follow it), and the [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang challenge for forcing me to finish this fic instead of letting it hang around on my hard-drive for an untold amount of time.

Title: Infection
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Kirk/McCoy, mentioned Spock/Uhura
Word Count: 20,895
Warnings: Mirrorverse, violence, torture, gore, smut featuring knife and blood play, medical experimentation, non-major character deaths
Summary: On Delta Vega, Kirk learned about the fall of the Terran Empire in an alternate universe. This knowledge festered in his brain during his first five years as captain of the ISS Enterprise. With McCoy's help, he plans to overthrow the empire and save it from destruction. The start of their second campaign puts the wheels in motion, leading to a coup that will guarantee the security of the Terran Empire.

Author's Notes: Well…here it is, everyone, my [livejournal.com profile] startrekbigbang fic. This follows my Symbiosis Trilogy (Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism), and while I don't think it's necessary to read that first, it explains some details that I mention but don't go into. This also fills the [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo prompt experiments by evil scientists.

Additional, extra special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] siluria and [livejournal.com profile] flyingmachine for beta, gamma, and delta reading.

And I did my own fanmix. The cover art is spoilery, so it's behind the cut. )Use this cut to skip the cover and view the track list and download links. )

This is the Mirrorverse fanmix I mentioned when I posted the previous fanmix. For some reason it's taken me a month to post this. IDEKY.

Um...I would rate this NSFW because of tracks 8 and 9.

Or at least listen to it the first time with headphones on until you determine who it is and isn't appropriate to listen to it around.

I mean, it's Mirrorverse, what else would you expect? ;)

You Electrify My Life, a Kirk/McCoy fanmix

I actually made a Mirrorverse fanmix like 2 weeks ago but this one's been stewing in my brain for a while, so I finally sat down and did it today. I don't know why it's getting posted first, but that's how it's turned out. ;)

I'm starting to feel like a one trick pony with fanmixes since there's a lot of song overlap, but is that really me or are all my 'ships really the same when you try to describe them in song? (Getting philosophical over a fanmix over here. :P)

Fanmix is heavily inspired by [livejournal.com profile] ceres_libera's Switch.

I've had this fanmix idea in my head for at least a couple weeks now. I knew songs that definitely had to be on it and then it was a matter of filling in the gaps.

...I had a lot of flashbacks to middle school while making this. O.o

And because it took me song long to acquire all the songs, I half-assed the art. WHATEVER. (Only half-assed because the pictures are supposed to go with the part of the movie that I think fits the song, word.)

This fanmix has made me decide that there NEEDS to be a fanvid to "All My Life." Who's on top of that? *puppy eyes* Moving on...

Black No. 1, a Supernatural fanmix

A Halloween present for you guys...

It's really a Halloween fanmix but I slipped it under the guise of Supernatural because that way you can listen to it all year round instead of just feeling like it's a seasonal thing.

It's all really hardcore goth to classic rock. "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Dust in the Wind" are the tamest songs on here.

I need to go make dinner since it's like 7:30 but I wanted to post this first since I've been sitting on it for two weeks now until I got Internet which I finally did last night so, yay, another fanmix!

Because it's Sawyer, there's some heavier music in this mix, but it might also be the most depressing.

Breathing Fire, a Jack Shephard fanmix

Because I felt bad for thinking Jack is gonna get killed off for no good reason and then bastardized him in a story for no good reason (and then made him have an emotional breakdown in the latest chapter of In Admiration, although I think that was for a good reason), I made a Jack fanmix.

Track listings, why I picked each song, and download information ahoy! )

Jack/Boone Fanmix!

So as motivation to keep myself from forgetting about my little story "In Admiration," I made an accompanying fanmix.

Fanmixes, as it turns out, are harder than they appear to make, especially since I have no access to new music at the moment. I had to work with what I already had. So I'm sorry all the songs are kinda...fluffy, but they're really good songs. Also they're really dealing with my story, which kinda is a little fluffy so far.
