lostpuffin: Desmond
Desmond wakes to the sound of steady beeping and knows he's not on the boat even before opening his eyes. He'd adjusted to the rocking of being moored or docked but here it was so clearly missing.
He jolts upright, remembering Ben, fearing the worst for Penny and Charlie, and not being able to stop it, to protect his family, as he hadn't been able to protect a friend so long, another lifetime, ago.
There are fingers seeking out his own, Desmond's eyes finally focusing on Penny's, Charlie asleep with his head on her shoulder, and Desmond can breathe again.

roseys_fics: Dan/Charlotte
He looks at the little girl on the swing and even though the record has stopped skipping, to borrow his own metaphor, Dan still feels like time is jumping on him.
There's Charlotte as a child, but he also sees the woman he loved, still loves, but with her alive and her dead, Dan's having a hard time keeping track of verb tenses.
He tells her never to come back, despite knowing it's all in vain, but Dan can't help but hope that what they're about to do will work, will save her, even though it means they'll never meet.

haldoor: Poetry (Jack/Boone)
The notebook had been found in an unclaimed suitcase. At some point, a haiku had been written in it, and when they felt so inspired, the survivors would add to the pages.
Water is life yet
Also my failures, saved by
He whom distracts me
Boone can't help but blush when he sees Jack with the notebook, passing it off as the heat when Shannon teases.
A heart of gold helps
Keep me sane, keep me grounded
In the chaos here
Jack's shoulders are strong beneath Boone's fingers, despite that he's kissing Boone like he's trying to draw his energy.

aurilly: Sayid
He feels like a monster, but this island is hell, so it fits.
It doesn't matter that he's just a boy. Sayid knows what he'll grow into, the lives that will be lost because of him on and off the island.
He'll avenge Nadia.
Shannon.
Himself.
He's a torturer, but at least for Ben, as a child, he'll make sure he dies quickly. Sayid doesn't think twice about attacking Jin. No one is going to keep him from doing what needs to be done.
Sayid's finger easily slides over the trigger. Pulling it is reflexive, second nature, easy as breathing.

jenthegypsy: Desmond
Desmond thinks it's happening again when he follows Jack and the others and Ms. Hawking is standing in front of them. He's not even registering what she's saying, trying to figure out if he never stopped jumping, never talked to Penny to get it to stop, and somehow he's been dreaming or dead or still on the damned island ever since.
The words being thrown about start to filter through, something about needing to take a specific flight in order to get back, that they needed to get back, and there's no way in hell Desmond is going to listen.

I thoroughly enjoyed the other drabbles as well, particularly the other Des one - good on you for tying the beep of the hatch with the beep of the hospital machinery!
Rambling aside, glad you liked it! :)

Great thought!
Of course I love 'mine' the most, lol.
;)
Thank you!
