emiliglia: (winters/nixon)
Meet Winters (played by Damian Lewis) and Nixon (played by Ron Livingston). They are in Band of Brothers playing BFFs. The real Winters and Nixon were also BFFs, but for fandom's sake, we pretend that these sets of men are completely different. This makes the slashing less complicated, and the slashing is very much evident with these two. Here I have their scenes from the first two episodes, Currahee and Day of Days.

Currahee

So that's Richard Winters by himself in the first and ninth pictures and Lewis Nixon by himself in the sixth and tenth pictures. In this scene we notice Nix possibly has an oral fixation and Winters has a fixation for Nix's mouth. Also Nix tells Winters that they should go to Chicago together sometime. ♥

Then we flashback 2 years to them training at Camp Toccoa.

I can never remember what they're talking about here because I like how they're staring at each other. No, that's a lie, I remember what they're talking about but I can never remember Nix's snarky comment at the end.

Suffering through Captain Sobel. More snarky Nix when he's all, "It's a can of peaches." Like, duh, RossSobel!

Training jumps! They had to check the gear of the guy in front of him, which Ron Livingston said was just an excuse to feel up the guy in front of you. Hee!

Uber-quick shot in the bar of them smirking at each other because of whatever Sink is saying.

Then Nix gets transferred to Intelligence and it's very sad because they're separated for a little while but then they're on the train to NYC and Nix finds his BFF and is all, "Going my way?" and Harry just pretends to be asleep because he doesn't want to be rude with these two giving each other meaningful glances.

Evans (aka Simon Pegg) delivers Winters his court marshal and it's all like Sobel, you still suck. And damn I hate smoking but this show makes it look gooooood.

I think this is Nix debriefing the officers about how D-Day is going to work. With the extra yummy Buck to the left there. These two are like each others' shadows, which becomes even more obvious later in the series when Winters gets promoted higher and hangs around with the higher ups more often.

Day of Days

Much less pictures for this one because Nix isn't in this one a lot. But when he does show up, it's on a fucking tank and they kinda glee at each other and it's all like, "O HAI BB, I BROUGHT GIANT PHALLIC SYMBOL! ♥"

Then the very last scene of the episode, Winters can't get his rations can open so Nix does it for him with the advice to never get a cat. And Winters is rattled from his first battle and losing men and such, but Nix is so sweet and reassuring about the Nazi map Winters found being able to do some good. Then they look at each other longingly for a moment before parting ways.

Hopefully this should have perked the interest of those of you who haven't seen it yet because REALLY this miniseries is love and the fandom is made of win from what I've seen so far. :)

This made me lol for realz. And then giggle for awhile. And then grin stupidly at the cuteness that is them.

Yay for picspams! <3 I never get tired of them, ever.

Picspams make me happy. I love that scene with the tank. Nix is all, "Be careful," about Dick climbing on the tank but it's like, Nix, he just walked through Normandy without a weapon half the time and then attacked Brecourt, I think he can climb up a tank! <3 They're just adorable.

WINTERS/NIXON! Oh, I just want to draw big sparkly hearts around their heads. And Nixon riding up on the tank never fails to bring the lulz. Giant phallic symbol, indeed.

This? This post is a true thing of beauty.

I loooove the part where Nixon rolls up on the tank. Jesus. I HART THEM SO MUCH. How did that happen????

I need to hurry up and icon the other episodes so I can picspam the rest of them! Although I need to rewatch them too so I remember what the hell is being said. But it'll possibly break the internet when I get to picspamming the parts by the lake. And when Nix gets shot in The Replacements, which is actually the next ep for me to icon.

I loooove the part where Nixon rolls up on the tank.

I love when Nix takes Winters's hand to pull him up and is all like, "Be careful," because Winters totally just didn't walk through Normandy during an invasion without a weapon for part of the time and then lead the assault on Brecourt!

Jesus. I HART THEM SO MUCH. How did that happen????

I don't know. I watched the DVDs because my sister had them and I'm like, "OMG! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS SOONER!?" It's just magical.

I gave that series to my husband years ago, him being a ex-soldier and all, and he loved it. I remember when he watched it, but I didn't really, occasionally glancing to the TV once in a while. I know basic plot and characters, that's it. One day, when I find time, I shall watch it :)

I love Ron Livingston already, anyway ;)

Oh, YES, SWEETIE, YOU MUST WATCH!

I love Ron Livingston already, anyway ;)

He and Kirk Acevedo were my reasonings for starting it. And then I couldn't believe I hadn't before because it's awesome. And all the characters are so gorgeous and amazing. The series is called sexy war for a reason. :P

Watching Currahee for the second time I hated Sobel much less because I knew what would happen by the end of the episode. They're all still so untainted by war at that point, it's kinda sweet.

Great picspamn, years have gone by and I still love this mini-series..I remeber I watch it with my father--because of him I have a great appreciation for all WW2 movies and miniseries..don't get me started on how many times I've seen Objective Burma. :)

Maybe this weekend I'll do my picspam I've promised for a long time of a movie featuring two people from this miniseries.

And another reason to love this..michael fassbender the ONE AND TRUE AND HOTTEST Azazeal EVER.

I watched the first 2 episodes for the first time with my dad but I don't know if I could now with all the slash running rampant through my brain. When I watched it yesterday my mom saw most of the first ep with me and about half of the second and even she sees the slash.

I guess there's a miniseries called The Pacific coming out this year by the same people but about Marines in the other campaign. I don't remember if it's also HBO or not though.

Maybe this weekend I'll do my picspam I've promised for a long time of a movie featuring two people from this miniseries.

Ooooh - who is it? I'm going to guess Michael Fassbender and Dexter Fletcher.

They are so married, I adore them more than should be humanly possible.
No, that's a lie, I remember what they're talking about but I can never remember Nix's snarky comment at the end.
Right, now don't hold me to this but I think it's something like "Do you know a man in this company who wouldn't double-time Currahee with a full pack just to piss in that man's morning coffee?"
I should not know that off the top of my head, I mean really.

"O HAI BB, I BROUGHT GIANT PHALLIC SYMBOL! ♥"
*laughs hysterically*
That comment is made of awesome. And true. xD

Thank you for sharing this delicious picspam! ♥

Winnix makes the world a better place! :P

Yes! That's what he said! Nix was all, "Sobel's a genius." And then Winters was like, "Michelangelo's and genius." And then that went off into the quote you wrote.

I'm glad you liked it! I have the images for the next part ready but I need to rewatch the episodes, so hopefully tomorrow!

I'm awfully glad that you spammed comms, because this is so completely made of awesome. I fell into BoB a year ago, because I was in the mood for a good war movie, and wasn't really thinking about the slash potential, but then Nix said, 'You'd like Chicago, I'll take you there someday (or something close), and Dick and the cigarette and I was like, 'my God, they're not only giving us subtext, they're giving us canon.' And then I lost my heart.

The pics are gorgeous and your commentary is hilarious, and I can't wait to see the next one!

Oh, yay, spamming approval! \m/ I always feel like such a tool when I post things to 4 different places or whatever. It's like sorry for messing up your flist but it's messing up mine too, so...

'my God, they're not only giving us subtext, they're giving us canon.' And then I lost my heart.

That's what happened to me! My other 2 main shows with my main OTPs are having issues at the time so I was introduced to the love that is Winnix just in time.

Oh boy, you're in for it now - you've fed my ego by saying I'm actually as funny as I think I am. ;) I have the pics for the next one ready, actually, but I need to rewatch so I remember the scenes so hopefully that'll happen tomorrow!
