For the drabble and prompt "fire" at
lostsquee.
It's technically 2 drabbles of 100 words each - like a drabble and it's sequel or something.
Spoilers/speculation/wishful thinking for next week's episode. Not like huge spoilers, though, because it had to happen sooner or later or not at all. So...yeah...
Jack/Sawyer
vague Sawyer/Kate
100 words
+++
Sawyer doesn't know how to approach him when they return. He sees them across the sand and sees by the distance between Jack and Kate how things are. If he's mad at her, Sawyer knows, then Jack sure as hell ain't happy with him. Either Kate told or Jack found out, but no matter how it happened, Jack knows.
Everyone else sees Jack and Sawyer as rivals when only Jack and Sawyer know the truth.
He turns his gaze away, back to the book in his lap, not giving Jack the chance to show Sawyer how much he hates him.
+
Back at camp and Jack's back to not being able to sleep. Nothing appears to have changed when everything feels like it has. Jack walks towards the lone light burning at one part of the beach, away from the rest of the community, and he's drawn like a moth to the flame. Sawyer's reading by firelight, and Jack's tempted to play along with the illusion that nothing has changed.
"You're hurting your eyes reading like that."
Jack watches Sawyer watching him for a moment, awkward until Jack can make out Sawyer's grin in the flickering light. "Want a beer, Doc?"

:) Glad you liked it.
of course Jack is so pissed because his bf cheated on him. I like how they avoid it in the second part.
♥
They're both very good at avoiding, so I hope that's how it goes down. *prays to TPTB*
Thanks, hun, I'm glad you liked it!
I love that, and allof both of these.
But the second one, where Jack shows that he's not really made at Sawyer, that makes it all better. I love how it's awkward, how there's so much that goes unsaid, but they manage to come together anyway, commonplace conversation filling for what they'd really like to say.
Very nicely done :)
I almost might want to make a full-length fic out of this - not sure, yet. Sometimes things like this can be ruined by stretching them out.
Glad you like it, though, babe!
I have been lurking your lj for months, but this is my first comment here.
I'm not a great lover of drabbles in general, I love long stories that get you sucked in the atmosphere, and build up the situation, but I really liked these two drabbles.
I'm so longing for the J/S reunion on show... I wish they would hug and behave like
loversfriends, but I know that would be impossible. But your drabbles are giving me hope... Maybe (maybe!) it could go this way... a bit of feigned indifference at first, and then avoiding it but relating to each other again...
I'm easy to please, that would be enough for me!
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
OT: I've read somewhere else on your lj that you are trying to keep track of all the drabbles in a single post... You are really accomplishing a useful task, I'd bookmark that post!
