This was so beautifully written, bb. I absolutely adored the last few lines, the tenderness between them. Gorgeous. And this part was so powerful:

"Like grading livestock for slaughter." The anger in Bones' voice startles Jim. He still forgets that there are people who value his life.

A difficult subject, really well handled.
