Morgan tells himself he's being a conscientious driver every time he glances in the rear-view mirror. He's staying aware of the cars behind him, not checking on Hotch in the backseat, unwilling to even be a few feet away from Jack.
Hotch's gaze is distant, and if he's holding Jack too tight, his son doesn't complain. Hotch is quiet until they pull in front of Morgan's apartment instead of his own. "Why are we here?"
"I thought you'd want to go someplace..." With good memories is what Morgan wants to say. "Neutral," he says instead.
Hotch's small nod speaks volumes.

He's seen leaders come and go with a regularity like the tides. They're all different but end up the same - devoted to the island until it becomes corruption, obsession, which pleases Esau to no end but is when Jacob wants them gone.
If Jacob's the sun then Esau's a black hole, devouring all the light.
Richard hasn't come up with a metaphor for himself yet. Time isn't an issue, though, as he has plenty of it. He only knows it still passes because of the people that come and go, rise and fall, ebb and flow.
The pattern never breaks.

"Dammit, Jim, the mission briefs said not to go swimming!"
"Lots of things claim to be aphrodisiacs!"
"Well, now you know that the algal blooms produce-"
"I know your mouth is busy lecturing me, but I can't help notice that your hands are free."
Leonard knew he should probably alleviate Jim's condition the medical way to teach him a lesson, but with Jim standing there flushed and panting, who was he to resist?

The lake is freezing.
Nix isn't sure why this surprises him. It's Austria, in April, there's Goddamned snow on the mountains and he's certain the stuff that's melted went into the lake, keeping it cool even as the sun warms the ground.
The water's still warmer than Bastogne was, though.
"Going to have to find you a place in Jersey with a pool," Nix says.
Dick walks towards him, towel still draped over his shoulders. "A pond would be all I need, Lew."
"All you need, huh?"
"Well you'll be there, right?" Dick stops mere inches away, and Nix smiles.

Lipton, shivering and sweating from fever, eventually caved, not wanting to disobey an order as Captain Speirs told him to take the cot, ranks be damned as he needed Lipton healthy as soon as possible.
He watched Speirs get himself situated with a blanket on the floor, wondering how this could be the man with all those stories behind him. Legends, really, carving Speirs out to be a bigger man than he really was.
But Lipton also remembered him charging across the field at Foy, determined and unafraid.
Finally, Lip decided, Easy had a man worthy of replacing Captain Winters.
